You can easily make "HOT" new gel candles for all your friends and family to enjoy. Gel candles are transparent, cool looking candles that last longer than traditional waxes.

The first thing you need to do is purchase the candle gel which comes in bags or tubes. Because of its soft, gelatin-like texture, gel candles cannot be free standing so you must have some type of container to hold them. For a wedding party favor candle, a martini glass, champagne glass, or any other cocktail glass would be perfect! Lastly, you will need to buy zinc wicks and candle making dyes. Make sure your colored dyes will compliment the colors of your wedding.

Directions for making this easy to make wedding candle favor:

1. Clean glass container thoroughly.
2. Use a small amount of the gel to stick one end of the wick to the bottom of the glass. Make sure the wick is standing straight up.
3. Melt your gel in a stainless steel pot over medium heat. If melted properly, it should look like syrup.
4. Add a small amount of color to the gel to create the desired color.
5. Heat glass containers to 150 degrees to reduce chance of bubbles when pouring the gel.
6. Slowly pour gel into glasses. Make sure glass is sitting on a level surface.
7. Let each cool and then trim wick to ¼ inch before burning the gel candle wedding favor.
