Christmas Wedding Favors

When searching for the perfect Christmas wedding favors you might start with some traditional ideas and mix in your own unique twist.

All of the festive color and lights of the holiday season can add so much beauty and charm to your holiday wedding. Why not carry that theme through right down to the guest favors? Here are a few ideas you might consider.

Stocking Stuffers

Get a bulk supply of Christmas stockings or if you can sew you can make your own with a simple pattern. You can do them all one color or in a variety of your favorite Christmas colors. Glitter pens work wonders for adding the pizazz. If you want to get a little more fancy you can have your names and wedding date embroidered on the stocking. This will cost a little more.

Now what to stuff it with? Here are some simple ideas to start with that most people love to receive as gifts.

  • Hershey's Kisses
  • Sugar Cookies (plain or decorated)
  • Gourmet Chocolates
  • Coasters
  • Hot Cocoa Mix or tea blends
  • soaps or lotions
  • scented candles
  • The stockings can be placed at each place setting on the reception tables or arranged decoratively as center pieces. These favors will add the perfect touch to your holiday wedding.

    Our First Christmas

Here is a sweet idea for your guests to hang on their tree year after year. You can have Christmas ornaments custom made and engraved with your names and date, maybe even a photo. This will leave them warm, beautiful memories of your Big Day!

If you enjoy making your own ornaments you can do this quite easily and inexpensively.

You might consider the idea of decoupage. This is one of my favorite crafts. It is a little time consuming but the end result is beauty that lasts and lasts!

This involves cutting out designs, illustrations, or photos from paper, foil, decorative napkins, etc, and mounting them decoratively on a surface and apply several coats of varnish. You can get what's called "modge podge" at craft stores that are especially made for this type of craft.

Ok, so now is the time for you to get creative. You can use little wood plaques, cutting boards, jewelrey boxes and so forth. Think small and think ornnaments if you want to make Christmas wedding favors to grace their tree. Small wood plaques work best. They can be round, square, oval, you name it.

Choose a background, a photo of the two of you, favorite poem, wedding vows, etc,. You can do a photo on one side and a special message on the back with your autogaph.

Check around at some of your favorite craft stores. They have a kazillion ideas and supplies to get you started.

    Have fun! Be Creative and...

    Happy Wedding Day!
